The Simpsons has declared that veteran voice entertainer Kevin Michael Richardson will be taking over as the voice of Dr Hibbert, supplanting Harry Shearer following 30 years in the job.
Shearer will keep on voicing his different characters, including Ned Flanders, Head Skinner and Mr. Consumes, as indicated by Cutoff time.
Fox affirmed that last night's Journal Sovereign – the show's 696th scene – would be the last to include Shearer as Hibbert, with Richardson set to assume control over the character's voice from next Sunday (February 28).
The move comes as a component of a series of changes to the voicing cast, after Hank Azaria's choice to venture down as the voice of Carl last September incited the show's makers to promise that white entertainers would presently don't voice non-white characters.
Azaria had recently voiced Apu too, and chose recently to remove himself from the character because of the generalizations propagated by the character.
The entertainer told the New York Times: "When I understood that that was the manner in which this character was considered, I simply didn't have any desire to take part in it any longer. It simply didn't feel right."
The previous evening's scene likewise saw The Simpsons honor late Edna Krabappel entertainer Marcia Wallace by utilizing her old lines.
Makers repurposed two of Wallace's lines represented her character, Springfield Grade Teacher Mrs Krabappel. The move came seven years after Wallace's startling passing in 2013, and was a purposeful decision to respect to the Emmy grant winning entertainer.
